Founding Days

Doulos Christian Church was founded in 2009 at Benin City and has today spread into It is SABONGIDA-ORA, Port Harcourt, Sweden,  Uganda and Italy. More ministry opportunities are opening up for us to bring in the Harvest .

The Revelation Behind Our Mission

Our mission is to give the cities and nations joy and lifting by the prophetic word” Acts 8:8. The historical event behind this mission was that our founder, His Lordship Bishop J.A. Alao had a revelation in 1997. It was in an environment where many notable servants of God in Nigeria where gathered to do a commissioning of some project. After the commissioning, they sat to eat in a large dining table and Bishop Sam Amaga, took a large loaf of bread, tore it into two, and beckoned on him, saying, ‘Joe, Joe, where have you been all this while? Come and take (referring to the large chunk of the loaf). As our father was about to collect it from him, he heard a voice of the Lord, “Sam Amaga is making many mighty by the Word, but I have sent you to give joy and lifting to the nations by the prophetic” and he awoke from this revelation.

The Revelation Behind Our Mandate

Our mandate is to raise multi-lingual, multi-ethnic, multi-racial, multi-national, loyal church with missions to the nations. History has it that in 1989, during one of the services of Christ Ambassadors Students’ Outreach, CASOR pioneered by our father, at the famous Oduduwa Hall of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, South-South Nigeria, he fell into an open vision. In that vision, he had an escort who brought him into a large hall filled with people while worship was at its peak. People from all nationalities where there; people of all walks of life, of diverse race and tongues. As they moved round the auditorium, special miracles where happening but to his surprise, no one appeared ecstatic about them. He asked this huge man escorting him, ‘why are they not celebrating these miracles?’ The man replied, ‘In this place, miracles are daily occurrences! However, the members do not focus on miracles; they focus on Jesus, whom they have come to worship’. Shortly after that, he was woken from the open vision to minister as the choir had already done singing, and on mounting the pulpit, he changed the title of his message that evening, preaching on ‘Jehovah Shammah’ which means ‘God shall be there’. Our core believe is that commitment to the great commission and the great commandment will make us a healthy church.
